When is Hytale due to release?
2024 or later
In the 2022 Developer Update, Hypixel Studios stated that Hytale would not be available by 2023. This means Hytale will be out in 2024 or later.
There are many reasons for delays
2021 Delay
Hypixel Studios initially acquired Hytale in 2018. The game was scheduled to be released in 2019. After the trailer was a huge success, Hypixel Studios decided to continue working on the game and make it the best it could be.
2023/2024 Delayed
The summer 2021 Development Update announced that Hytale would not be released until 2023, although it may take longer. The massive rebuilding of Hytale was the reason for this delay, which will be discussed in the summer of 2021 and 2022 Developer Updates. Hypixel Studios also announced that Hytale would launch on consoles and mobile, but this wasn't the main reason.
Hypixel Studios presented the new vision for Hytale in the 2022 Developer Update. They also did significant rebuildings of existing systems. Hytale won't be ready by 2023 because Hytale’s Client and Server engines were rewritten using C++ and not C# or Java. There were many reasons for the rewrite. It was easier to port the game to other platforms and was future-proofed with faster and more frequent updates.
Community Response
In response to the unspecified release date, the Hytale Community split in half. Some lost patience with Hypixel Studios developers for nearly two years. However, most Hytale Community members remained interested in the project and understood the enormous pressures they were under to deliver the first release. Many believe that Hytale will be able to compete with Minecraft.
